GROUP DISCUSSION (GD) TIPS

A Group Discussion (GD) is a formal discussion involving ten to 12 participants in a group. They will be given a topic to discuss. Some time will be given for the participants to collect their thoughts. Then the group will be asked to discuss the topic for 20 to 25 minutes. There will be usually 3-4 panel members to evaluate.
Group Discussion is more a technique than a conventional test. It is one of the most important and popular techniques being used in most personality tests. It is a technique or a method used for screening candidates as well as testing their potential. It is to test the candidate's team ability.
Skills that are judged in group discussion
  • Ability of communication with others.
  • Ability of listening skills.
  • Ability of expressing your views.
  • Ability of leadership.
  • Abiility of analysis and decision making skills.
  • Ability of Problem solving.
  • Ability of critical thinking skill and your attitude
Notes for group discussion
  • Try to initiate the GD. When you initiate a Group Discussion, you have grabbed the opportunity to speak, and also have grabbed the attention of the examiner and other candidates.
  • Keep eye contact with every team member while speaking in GD.
  • Listen to the speech of others and pay attention while others are speaking. This makes you to get involved in the group positively. You will surely make people agree with you.
  • If you don't agree with other's thoughts, don't interrupt them while speaking. Make some notes and clear the points when it's your turn.
  • If you can't get a clear idea of someone's statement, ask them to clarify in a polite manner. Don't speak eloquently. You must speak in a proper tone.
  • If any group is distracting from the topic, then simply take initiative to bring the discussion on the track. This is the best point to score max.
  • If you disagree with the statement made by other group, deliver your points politely to make others agree with you.
  • If you are speaking about a complex topic, explain it in a simple manner so that other members can easily grasp it.
  • Be confident and keep positive body language. Do not try to dominate anyone. Show interest in discussion.
A conclusion is where the whole group decides in favour or against the topic. During conclusion, do end with the conclusion note that shows your leadership quality.

BODY LANGUAGE

Your body language can strengthen your chances of getting through the interview :

Shake hands with the interviewer(s) at the beginning and the end of the interview.
Maintaining eye contact is a very important aspect. Always maintain direct eye contact. Fickle eye movements suggest insincerity.
If you slouch or hang sideways in your chair, it might give the impression that you are not that interested in the job. However, sitting on the edge of your chair can come across as being a little tense and might give the impression that you feel uncomfortable.
Sit up straight, and lean slightly forward in your chair. In addition to projecting interest and engagement in the interaction, aligning your body's position to that of the interviewer's shows admiration and agreement.
Folding your arms across your body can be interpreted as a defensive move. It is better to let your hands lie loosely on your lap or place them on the armrests of your chair.
Don't rub the back of your head or neck. This shows that you are not interested. Rubbing or touching your nose suggests that you're not being completely honest, and it's gross.
Speak clearly but not too fast: a deeper calm voice suggests authority, whereas an excitable louder voice suggests a nervous personality.
If more than one people are interviewing you, you must pay attention to both of them and return your attention to the person who has asked the question.
Good posture and a friendly expression will indicate that you have a positive approach.

INTERVIEW TIPS RESUME WRITING TIPS

1).RESUME WRITING TIPS

What is a Resume?
Resume is a self-promotional document that presents you in the best possible light, for the purpose of getting invited to a job interview.
Why your resume is important?
It's the first meeting between you and a prospective employer. Your value and your importance can be easily decoded from your resume. Use your profile design that grabs attention.
What should the resume content be about?
Your resume should be focused on the company's needs. Your resume should convey that you are the perfect candidate for the job.
It's about YOU - how did you perform and what did you accomplish in the past jobs, especially those accomplishments that are most relevant to the work you want to do next. A good profile predicts how you will perform in that desired future job.
Resume Design
Follow a simple design, which gives maximum information in the minimum number of pages. Make the profile readable by using a minimum of a 10-point font for text and 11-point for headings. Use an easy to read and commonly used font like 'Times New Roman' or 'Verdana.' Do not underline heavily. The length of your resume must have at least 2 pages.
Word Usage
Simple language, lucid expression with good grammar is the thumb rule. Watch your tenses carefully. Use short and simple sentences. Never use long sentences, and never go with errors, unusual punctuation and incorrect capitalization's.
Make your resume concise. Never use \"I\" or other pronouns to identify yourself.
Highlight your strengths
Highlight your strengths and what is most relevant to the potential employer. Every resume is typically reviewed in 10-30 seconds, so put forth the effort and determine which points most strongly support your job search objective. Put the strongest and most relevant points first where they are more apt to be read.
You can have many more interviews by tweaking your resume and cover letter so that they address the specific skills that each employer needs.

Experience
Quantify your experience wherever possible. Only by analyzing your resume and your past contributions to the previous company, recruiters will offer you an employment in the company.
Always be honest and confident about describing your career profile. Many experienced and professional recruiters can easily understand whether you are describing the truth or not.
Use bullet statements when appropriate
Bulleted information is more readable and tends to stand out more than the same information contained within a paragraph. But bulleted information also takes up more room. It's better to combine the two.
BASIC POINTS TO BE COVERED IN RESUME
Contact Information
Your name, address, phone/fax numbers, and email address.
Objective
Form a solid, clear objective that will help you carry a focused message throughout the resume. The objective summarizes your skills and emphasizes your strengths.
Education
Most of the fresher resumes do not suffer from space constraint . However, it is a good idea to include only those educational and professional qualifications which are relevant. Put your qualifications in a reverse chronological order. i.e. the recent ones first followed by the earlier ones. Entry level resume should also mention the names of their school and college, years in which they passed their board examinations. However, include only the marks in which you have shown a good academic performance.
Work Experience
If you have any work experience, list it in the reverse chronological order. It must include the company name, location, time frame of work there, responsibilities and projects.
Publications, Patents, and Awards
List these or anything else that is relevant to your job function in this section. If you have many publications and patents, consider listing them on a separate page and attach it to your resume.
Computer Skills
This section can include hardware, software, programming language, and operating system experience.
Other Skills and Activities
This section can be used to show that you are a well-rounded individual. It can include membership in industry-related societies. It includes
  • Community Services, if any
  • Leadership Activities
  • Accomplishments
  • Affiliations
  • Publications or Presentations
  • Certification/Licensure
Personal Profile
Your personal profile includes name,father's name, date of birth, marital status,nationality, address and contact number.

         QUANTITATIVE APTITUDE QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS

1) A man divides Rs.8600 among 5 sons,4 daughters and 2 nephews. If each daughter receives four times as much as each nephew, and each son receives five times as much as each nephew, how much does each daughter receive?
  Sol : Let the share of each nephew be Rs.x
  Then, share of each daughter = Rs.(4x); share of each son = Rs.(5x).
  So, 5 * 5x + 4 * 4x + 2 * x = 8600
  => 25x + 16x + 2x = 8600 => 43x = 8600
  => x = 200. Therefore, Share of each daughter = Rs. (4 * 200) = Rs.800
2) Kumar spends 75% of his income. His income is increased by 20% and he increased his expenditure by 10%. Find the percentage increase in his savings.
  Sol : Let original income = Rs. 100. Then, expenditure = Rs.75 and savings = Rs. 25.
  New income = Rs.120 & New expenditure = Rs.[110/100 * 75] = Rs.165/2
  New savings = Rs.[120-165/2] = Rs.75/2
  Increase in savings = Rs.[75/2 - 25] = Rs. 25/2
  Therefore, Increase% = [25/2 * 1/25 * 100]% => 50%
3) A man sells an article at a profit of 25%. If he had bought it at 20% less and sold it for Rs.10.50 less, he would have gained 30%. Find the cost of the article.
  Sol: Let the C.P. be Rs,x.
  First S.P. = 125% of x = 125/100x = 5x/4;
  2nd S.P. = 80% of x = 80/100x = 4x/5
  2nd S.P. = 130% of 4x/5 = [130/100 * 4x/5] = 26x/25
  => 5x/4 - 26x/25 = 10.50
  => 21x/100 = 10.50 =>x=[10.50 * 100 / 21] => 50
  Hence, C.P. = Rs. 50
4) A is twice as good as workman as B and together they finish a piece of work in 18 days. In how many days will A alone finish the work?
  Sol: (A's 1 day's work) : (B's 1 day's work) = 2:1
  (A+B)'s 1 day's work = 1/18.
  Therefore A's 1 day's work = [1/18 * 2/3] = 1/27.
  Hence, A alone can finish the work in 27 days.
5) Two pipes A and B can fill a tank in 36 min. and 45 min. respectively. A water pipe C can empty the tank in 30 min. First A and B are opened. After 7 minutes, C is also opened. In how much time, the tank is full?
  Sol: Part filled in min. = 7[1/36 + 1/45] = 7/20
  Remaining part = [1-7/20] = 13/20
  Net part filled in 1 min. when A,B and C are opened = [1/36 + 1/45 - 1/30] = 1/60
  Now, 1/60 part is filled in 1 min.
  13/20 part is filled in [60 * 13/20] = 39 min.
  Therefore, Total time taken to fill the tank = (39+7)min. => 46 min.
6) From a group of boys and girls 15 girls leave. There are then left 2 boys for each girl. After this, 45 boys leave. There are then 5 girls for each boy. Find the number of girls in the beginning.
  Sol: Let at present there be x boys. Then number of girls at present = 5x.
  Before the boys had left : Number of boys = x+45 and number of girls = 5x.
  => x+45 = 2*5x =>9x = 45 => x=5.
  Hence, number of girls in the beginning = 5x+15 = 25+15 = 40.
7) A cricketer has a certain average for 10 innings. In the eleventh inning, he scored 108 runs, thereby increasing his average by 6 runs. His new average is :
  Sol: Let average for 10 innings be x. Then,
  10x + 108/11 = x+6
  => 11x+66 = 10x+108 => x=42.
  Therefore, New Average = (x+6) = 48 runs.
8) Present ages of Abi and Suji are in the ratio of 5:4 respectively. Three years hence, the ratio of their ages will become 11:9 respectively. What is Suji's present age in years?
  Sol: Let the present ages Abi and Suji be 5x years and 4x years respectively.
  Then, 5x+3 / 4x+3 = 11/9
  => 9(5x+3) = 11(4x+3) => x=6.
  Therefore, Suji's present age = 4x = 24 years.
9) The difference between the ages of two person is 10 years. Fifteen years ago, the elder one was twice as old as the younger one. The present age of the elder person is
  Sol: Let the ages be x years and (x+10) years respectively.
  Then, (x+10) - 15 = 2(x-15)
  => x-5 = 2x-30 => x=25.
  Therefore, present age of the elder person = (x+10) = 35 years.
10) Pranav spends 30% of his monthly income on food articles, 40% of the remaining on conveyance and clothes and saves 50% of the remaining. If his monthly salary is Rs.18400, how much money does he save every month?
  Sol: Saving = 50% of (100-40)% of (100-30)% of Rs.18400
  => Rs. 50/100 * 60/100 * 70/100 * 18400 => 3864
  Therefore, he saves Rs.3864.

11) The profit earned by selling an article for Rs.832 is equal to the loss incurred when the same article is sold for Rs.448. What should be the sale price for making 50% profit?
  Sol : Let C.P = Rs.x.
  Then, 832 - x = x-448
  => 2x = 1280 => x=640
  => 150% of Rs.640 = Rs. 150/100 * 640 => Rs.960
   Therefore, Required S.P = Rs.960
12) Salaries of Ranjani and Sudha are in the ratio 2:3. If the salary of each in increased by Rs.4000, the new ratio becomes 40:57. What is the Sudha's present salary?
  Sol : Let the original salaries of Ranjani and Sudha be Rs.2x and Rs.3x respectively. Then,
  = 2x+4000/3x+4000 => 40/57
  => 57(2x+4000) = 40(3x+4000)
  => 6x = 68000 =>3x=34000
  Sumit's present salary = (3x+4000) = Rs. (34000 + 4000) = Rs.38000
13) Karthik started a business investing Rs.9000. After 5 months, Shyam joined with a capital of Rs.8000. If at the end of the year, they earn a profit of Rs.6970, then what will be the share of Shyam in the profit?
  Sol: Karthik : Shyam = (9000 * 12) : (8000 * 7)
  => 108:56 => 27:14
  => 6970 * 14/41 = 2380
  Therefore, Shyam's share = Rs.2380.
14) A and B can do a piece of work in 45 days and 40 days respectively. They began to do the work together but A leaves after some days and then B completed the remaining work in 23 days. The number of days after which A left the work was
  Sol: (A+B)'s 1 day's work = [1/45 + 1/40] = 17/360
  => Work done by B in 23 days = 1*23/40 = 23/40
  => Remaining work = 1-23/40 = 17/40
  => Now, 17/360 work was done by (A+B) in 1 day.
  => 17/40 work was done by (A+B) in 1*360/17*17/40 = 9 days.
  Therefore, A left after 9 days.
15) Two pipes can fill a tank in 20 and 24 minutes respectively and a waste pipe can empty 3 gallons per minute. All the three pipes working together can fill the tank in 15 minutes. The capacity of the tank is
  Sol: Work done by the waste pipe in 1 minute
  => 1/15 - [1/20+1/24]
  => 1/15-11/120 = -1/40
  => volume of 1/40 part = 3 gallons.
  Therefore, Volume of whole = (3*40)gallons = 120 gallons.
16) If the man walks at the rate of 5 kmph, he misses a train by 7 minutes. However, if he walks at the rate of 6 kmph, he reaches the station 5 minutes before the arrival of the train. Find the distance covered by him to reach the station.
  Sol: Let the required distance be x km.
  Difference in the times taken at two speeds = 12 min = 1/5 hr.
  => x/5 - x/6 = 1/5
  => 6x-5x = 6 => x=6
  Hence, the required distance is 6 km.
17) A train when moves at an average speed of 40 kmph, reaches its destination on time. When its average speed becomes 35 kmph, then it reaches its destination 15 minutes late. Find the length of the journey
  Sol: Difference between timings = 15 min = 1/4 hr
  Let the length of journey be x km
  Then, x/35 - x/40 = 1/4
  => 8x-7x = 70
  Therefore, x=70 km.
18) A train 125 m long passes a man, running at 5 kmph in the same direction in which the train is going, in 10 seconds. The speed of the train is
  Sol: Speed of the train relative to man = [125/10]m/sec = [25/2]m/sec
  => [25/2 * 18/5]km/hr = 45 km/hr
  Let the speed of the train be x kmph.
  Then, relative speed = (x-5) kmph
  Therefore, x-5 = 45 or x=50 kmph.
19) Suresh borrowed some money at the rate of 6% p.a. for the first three years, 9% p.a. for the next five years and 13% p.a. for the period beyond eight years. If the total interest paid by him at the end of 11 years is Rs.8160, how much money did he borrow?
  Sol: Let the sum be Rs.x. Then,
  = [x*6*3/100] + [x*9*5/100] + [x*13*3/100] = 8160
  =>18x+45x+39x = (8160*100)
  => 102x = 816000
  Therefore, x=8000.
20) Hari invested an amount of Rs.8000 in a fixed deposit scheme for 2 years at compound interest rate of 5 p.c.p.a. How much amount will Hari get on maturity of the fixed deposit?
  Sol: = Rs.[8000*(1+5/100)2]
  => Rs.[8000*21/20*21/20]
  =Rs.8820.
21) What will be the cost of gardening 1 metre broad boundary around a rectangular plot having perimeter of 340 metres at the rate of Rs.10 per square metre?
  Sol : 2(l+b) = 340
  Area of the boundary [(l+2)(b+2)-lb]
  => 2(l+b)+4 = 344
  Therefore, Cost of gardening = Rs.(344*10) = Rs.3440
22) A cow is tethered in the middle of a field with a 14 feet long rope. If the cow grazes 100 sq.ft. per day, then approximately what time will be taken by the cow to graze the whole field?
  Sol : Area of the field grazed = [22/7*14*14]sq.ft. = 616 sq.ft.
  Number of days taken to graze the field = 616/100 days
  => 6 days(approx.).
23) A park square in shape has a 3 metre wide road inside it running along its sides. The area occupied by the road is 1764 square metres. What is the perimeter along the outer edge of the road?
  Sol: Let the length of the outer edge be x metres. Then, length of the inner edge =(x-6)m.
  => x2-(x-6)2 = 1764
  => x2-(x2-12x+36) = 1764
  => 12x = 1800 => x=150.
  Required perimeter = (4x)m = (4*150)m = 600m.
24) The diameter of the driving wheel of a bus in 140 cm. How many revolutions per minute must the wheel make in order to keep a speed of 66 kmph?
  Sol: Distance to be covered in 1 min. = [66*1000/60]m = 1100m
  Circumference of the wheel = [2*22/7*0.70]m = 4.4m.
  Number of revolutions per min. = 1100/4.4 = 250
25) A sum of money at simple interest amounts to Rs.720 after 2 years and to Rs.1020 after a further period of 5 years. The sum is :
  Sol: S.I. for 5 years = Rs.(1020-720) = Rs.300
  S.I. for 2 years = Rs.(300/5)*2 = Rs.120.
  Therefore, Principal = Rs.(720-120) = Rs.600.

                                                           Interview Puzzles With Answers

1) There is a shortage of tubelights, bulbs and fans in a village - Kharghar. It is found that
  • All houses do not have tubelight or bulb or fan.
  • atleast 83% of houses do not have bulbs
  • exactly 19% of houses do not have just one of these
  • atleast 73% of houses do not have fans
  • atleast 67% of houses do not have tubelights
What percentage of houses do not have tubelight, bulb or fan?
Ans : 42% houses do not have tube light, bulb and fan.
Let's assume that there are 100 houses. Hence, there should be total 300 items i.e. 100 tubelights, 100 bulbs and 100 fans.
From the given data, we know that there is shortage of atleast (67+83+73) 223 items in every 100 houses.
Also, exactly 19 houses do not have just one item. It means that remaining 81 houses should account for the shortage of remaining (223-19) 204 items. If those remaining 81 houses do not have 2 items each, there would be a shortage of 162 items. But total of 204 items are short. Hence, atleast (204-162) 42 houses do not have all 3 items - tubelight, bulb and fan.
Thus, 42% houses do not have tubelight, bulb and fan.
2) Find the smallest number such that if its rightmost digit is placed at its left end, the new number so formed is precisely 50% larger than the original number.
Ans : 285714
If its rightmost digit is placed at its left end, then new number is 428571 which is 50% larger than the original number 285714.
3) In a hotel, rooms are numbered from 101 to 550. A room is chosen at random. What is the probability that room number starts with 1, 2 or 3 and ends with 4, 5 or 6?
There are total 450 rooms.
Out of which 299 room number starts with either 1, 2 or 3. (as room number 100 is not there) Now out of those 299 rooms only 90 room numbers end with 4, 5 or 6
Ans : The probability is 90/450 i.e. 1/5 or 0.20
4) A 3 digit number is such that it's unit digit is equal to the product of the other two digits which are prime. Also, the difference between it's reverse and itself is 396. What is the sum of the three digits?
Ans : The required number is 236 and the sum is 11.
It is given that the first two digits of the required number are prime numbers i.e. 2, 3, 5 or 7. Note that 1 is neither prime nor composite. Also, the third digit is the multiplication of the first two digits. Thus, first two digits must be either 2 or 3 i.e. 22, 23, 32 or 33 which means that there are four possible numbers - 224, 236,326 and 339.
Now, it is also given that - the difference between it's reverse and itself is 396. Only 236 satisfies this condition. Hence, the sum of the three digits is 11.
5) A fish had a tail as long as its head plus a quarter the lenght of its body. Its body was three-quarters of its total length. Its head was 4 inches long. What was the length of the fish?
Ans : The fish is 128 inches long.
It is obvious that the lenght of the fish is the summation of lenghts of the head, the body and the tail. Hence,
Fish (F) = Head (H) + Body (B) + Tail (T)
But it is given that the lenght of the head is 4 inches i.e. H = 4. The body is three-quarters of its total length i.e. B = (3/4)*F. And the tail is its head plus a quarter the length of its body i.e. T = H + B/4. Thus, the equation is
F=H+B+T
F = 4 + (3/4)*F + H + B/4
F = 4 + (3/4)*F + 4 + (1/4)*(3/4)*F
F = 8 + (15/16)*F
(1/16)*F = 8
F = 128 inches
Thus, the fish is 128 inches long.
6) There is a grid of 20 squares by 10 squares. How many different rectangles are possible? Note that square is a rectangle.
Ans : 11550
Here there are 20 rows and 10 columns or vice versa. Hence, total possible rectangles
= ( 20 + 19 + 18 + 17 + 16 + .... + 3 + 2 + 1 ) * ( 10 + 9 +8 + 7 + .... + 3 + 2 + 1)
= ( 210 ) * (55) = 11550
= Hence, total 11,550 different rectangles are possible.
7) One of Mr. Babloo, his wife, their son and Mr. Babloo's mother is an Engineer and another is a Doctor.
  • If the Doctor is a male, then the Engineer is a male.
  • If the Engineer is younger than the Doctor, then the Engineer and the Doctor are not blood relatives.
  • If the Engineer is a female, then she and the Doctor are blood relatives.
Can you tell who is the Doctor and the Engineer?
Ans : Mr. Babloo is the Engineer and either his wife or his son is the Doctor.
Mr. Babloo's wife and mother are not blood relatives. So from 3, if the Engineer is a female, the Doctor is a male. But from 1, if the Doctor is a male, then the Engineer is a male. Thus, there is a contradiction, if the Engineer is a female.
Hence, either Mr. Babloo or his son is the Engineer.
Mr. Babloo's son is the youngest of all four and is blood relative of each of them.So from 2, Mr. Babloo's son is not the Engineer. Hence, Mr. Babloo is the Engineer.
Now from 2, Mr. Babloo's mother can not be the Doctor. So the Doctor is either his wife or his son . It is not possible to determine anything further.
8) Three men - kavin, nickson and jeeva - are married to mini, sumi and priya, but not necessarily in the same order.
kavin's wife and sumi's Husband play mini and priya's husband at bridge. No wife partners her husband and nickson does not play bridge.
Who is married to nickson?
Ans : mini is married to nickson.
kavin's wife and sumi's Husband play mini and priya's husband at bridge.
It means that kavin is not married to either sumi or mini. Thus, kavin is married to priya.
As nickson does not play bridge, sumi's husband must be jeeva.
Hence, mini is married to nickson.
9) A certain street has 1000 buildings. A sign-maker is contracted to number the houses from 1 to 1000. How many zeroes will he need?
Ans : The sign-maker will need 192 zeroes.
Divide 1000 building numbers into groups of 100 each as follow: (1..100), (101..200), (201..300), ....... (901..1000)
For the first group, sign-maker will need 11 zeroes.
For group numbers 2 to 9, he will require 20 zeroes each.
And for group number 10, he will require 21 zeroes.
The total numbers of zeroes required are
= 11 + 8*20 + 21
= 11 + 160 + 21 = 192
10) In a sports contest there were m medals awarded on n successive days (n >1).
  • On the first day 1 medal and 1/7 of the remaining m - 1 medals were awarded.
  • On the second day 2 medals and 1/7 of the now remaining medals was awarded; and so on.
  • On the nth and last day, the remaining n medals were awarded.
How many days did the contest last, and how many medals were awarded altogether?
Ans : Total 36 medals were awarded and the contest was for 6 days.
On day 1: Medals awarded = (1 + 35/7) = 6 : Remaining 30 medals
On day 2: Medals awarded = (2 + 28/7) = 6 : Remaining 24 medals
On day 3: Medals awarded = (3 + 21/7) = 6 : Remaining 18 medals
On day 4: Medals awarded = (4 + 14/7) = 6 : Remaining 12 medals
On day 5: Medals awarded = (5 +7/7) = 6 : Remaining 6 medals
On day 6: Medals awarded 6

11) 1/3rd of the contents of a container evaporated on the 1st day. 3/4th of the remaining contents of the container evaporated on the second day.
What part of the contents of the container is left at the end of the second day?
Ans : 1/6th of the contents of the container is remaining
Assume that contents of the container is X
On the first day 1/3rd is evaporated. (1 - 1/3) of X is remaining i.e. (2/3)X
On the Second day 3/4th is evaporated. Hence,(1- 3/4) of (2/3)X is remaining
=> (1/4)(2/3)X = (1/6) X
Hence 1/6th of the contents of the container is remaining.
12) A worker earns a 5% raise. A year later, the worker receives a 2.5% cut in pay, & now his salary is Rs. 22702.68. What was his salary to begin with?
Ans : Rs.22176
Assume his salary was Rs. X. He earns 5% raise. So his salary is (105*X)/100.
A year later he receives 2.5% cut. So his salary is ((105*X)/100)*(97.5/100) which is Rs. 22702.68
Hence, solving equation ((105*X)/100)*(97.5/100) = 22702.68 X = 22176
13) A worker earns a 5% raise.
14) The letters P, Q, R, S, T, U and V, not necessarily in that order represents seven consecutive integers from 22 to 33.
  • U is as much less than Q as R is greater than S.
  • V is greater than U.
  • P is 3 greater than S.
  • Q is the middle term.
Can you find the sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value?
Ans : The sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value is TUSQRPV
The sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value is TUSQRPV.
From (3), Q is the middle term.
___ ___ ___ _Q_ ___ ___ ___
From (4), there must be exactly 2 numbers between P and S which gives two possible positions.
[1] ___ _S_ ___ _Q_ _P_ ___ ___
[2] ___ ___ _S_ _Q_ ___ _P_ ___
From (1), the number of letters between U and Q must be same as the number of letters between S and R. Also, the number of letters between them can be 1, 2 or 3.
Using trial and error, it can be found that there must be 2 letters between them. Also, it is possible only in option [2] above.
[2] ___ _U_ _S_ _Q_ _R_ _P_ ___.
From (2) V must be the highest and the remaining T must be the lowest number.
_T_ _U_ _S_ _Q_ _R_ _P_ _V_
Thus, the sequence of letters from the lowest value to the highest value is TUSQRPV.

Microsoft reserves 20% of your available bandwidth for their own purposes like Windows Updates and interrogating your PC etc

You can get it back:

Click Start then Run and type "gpedit.msc" without quotes. This opens the group policy editor.

Then go to:

--> QOS Packet Scheduler

--> Limit Reservable Bandwidth.

Double click on Limit Reservable bandwidth.

It will say it is not configured, but the truth is under the 'Explain' tab i.e." By default, the Packet Scheduler limits the system to 20 percent of the bandwidth of a connection, but you can use this setting to override the default."
So the trick is to ENABLE reservable bandwidth, then set it to ZERO. This will allow the system to reserve nothing, rather than the default 20%.It works
